There have been two main questions posed to me since the boys left to visit Grammy and Grandpa's Summer Camp Extravaganza.
1. Does Harper miss the boys?
2. What are you doing with all your free time?
Answer to #1: No. I don't even think she's noticed they are gone. She's not completely aloof to their absence though, she puts on a good show when we Skype. Honestly, it's like the kids are 3 balloons and with two of the balloons out of the room the other balloon has managed to grow and take up the entire space. She is loving the individual attention and I'm afraid she's getting a bit spoiled :) We're managing to keep each other entertained.
Answer to #2: Projects. I have a list about a foot long (admittedly with large writing) of things to do. The first, and most important to getting others done is finishing Harper's dresser that I bought OVER a year ago. If I do say so myself, it's fabulous now.
TA DAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! |
I love this knob. Harper points to it and says "Bubbies". I like her. |
I'm not going to lie, I make pretty things. Also, no one has ever accused me of modesty.
The other main project was removal of a heinous bush in the front yard. I'm not sure if Chevy and Tahoe killed it or if it was dead when we moved in but it needed to go. I did this on a hot day while JY was working night shifts (aka asleep upstairs) and as Harper watched me while she played in her pool. She's a smug little creature.
I really could use some lessons in nature photography. What ever, you can see pretty clearly that the bush was a hot mess. |
Daisies, they're fabulous. Way better than Gatsby's Daisy. |
Interesting story: I bought these from Publisher's Clearing House. I didn't win though. Actually, that wasn't interesting at all. |
Have I mentioned that I saw a deer talking to a bunny? I live in a Disney movie. |
Anyhoo, I have more projects to do and I'm sure I'll brag share them with you. It's what I do because, you know, I have so much free time.
XOXO,
S
P.S. I wrote this about two weeks ago. You'll be happy to know that I'm frantically scrambling now. T minus 6 days until my Hoodlums come home!!
